Interesting I had always heard google used servers too

It will be interesting to see when someone else can come out with the nice display and battery life on a tablet. I don't think there is a phone out there with ppi that the iPhone has yet.

The processing power to drive the pixels in the new iPad has to be pretty high. I am really interested to see when apple comes out with the A6.

I am thinking I will go play with a retina iPad before deciding if I want to buy one :-)

so had my ipad (version 3) for a weekend now...

It seems to perform as well if not better than my iPad 2.
The screen is nice but I don't see the same difference I did between the 3gs and 4 screen when retina came to the iphone.
It is nice to be able to hook it up via VGA and push HD video on non airplay video like NCAA live.
I think the battery takes a little longer to charge and I am not sure it has the same battery life as the #2 but it is close.

Yep

Will be interesting if it creates less universal apps. It is the main reason I got a 32 GB model and got a new one at all. I figured if I have to have larger apps I might as well get the benefit.

I am interested to see if apple modifies the next iPhone to be 1024x768 too. Seems like it would make sense to have the iPad and iPhone with the same scale and the 1024x768 apps look just fine on the new iPad. If apple does create a "bigger" iPhone it makes a lot of sense to me.


Who knows. It could also be that a new iPad mini will fill in that 1024x768 res too

no and at first I thought it was just LTE models but it sounds like others are doing it too.

To be fair my ipad has a back cover on it so I am not sure I would even know if it got hot.

My iphone 4 gets very hot. Especially when I am charging in the car or streaming 3G audio for an extended period of time.

tnt did a live test yesterday and noticed it got hot but not crazy hot for them and they had it on infinity blade for like 45 mins or something :-)

Do you know if other tablets get hot? Fire or galaxy?
My ipad1 and ipad2 never got hot at all when I didn't have covers on the back of them.

I may try playing with my 3rd gen tonight without the back cover on and see what happens.
