I've looked into getting something like this but I just don't read enough. I think this tablet revolution may be the end of me. I don't get what the big deal is, though maybe it's because I don't own one...

You don't surf? My MacBook never leaves my desk anymore only used for sncing at night. All my web surfing (reading) is done on my iPad

i've seen it done. the screen on the nook color isn't as responsive as the ipad and archos, but for that price i could live with the occasional double swipe.
