Apple Service is the bomb!
So my iphone which went through an entire cycle in the washing machine a few months back was not charging anymore which based on the boards was because of the water damage.
I went ahead and took it in to see a genius. He was able to reproduce and then he said he would like to give me a new one but had to run some tests. He came back 10 minutes later and said the phone had gotten wet which is why it was not charging and normally it would cost 200 for a new one. To me 200 wasn'
t bad at all. He then said he was about to go on lunch and said I could just have it for free!....pretty cool. Water damage is not covered in the warranty at all.

happy that you have a working phone, but this sounds more like that particular employee was extremely generous with the company'
s property.
this reminds me of a friend in colorado who was bed shopping before his wedding. the salesman told him "today'
s your lucky day. you want a good price on a bed and i want a different job."

maybe but even at the $200 I would have been thrilled.
a new iphone for me would normally be 450 with a 2 yr contract or 650 straight up...on ebay they are going for over $400 easily.
I have heard from several other people that this has happened to them as well....Amber went in on Mother'
s day and they told her a mom shouldn'
t be dealing with a problem phone today and they just gave her a new one without even really looking at her phone.

it is a smart move on their part because if they look up my apple id they will see how many apple devices we have and we are going to buy an imac soon.
