spiralfrog.com
some of you mightve heard of a website (its not up and running yet, it's coming soon) called spiralfrog.com. what it'll be is the first totally free LEGAL music downloading site. it'll be supported totally by ads. i was curious what everyone else thought of this, whether they think it'll make it or not.

there's the best story i've seen about it, doesnt say anything about that. does bring up an interesting topic... what if google did this backed by adsense?

Edit: http://www.twit.tv/twit67 discusses it in TWiT podcast. apparently you have to listen to ads to get the stuff.

Are you not allowed to post twice in a row to something? because there was not a reply button and the quick reply was gone?

not very impressive. massive amount of ads and popups and so far i haven't been able to download anything. it appears that there is a 30 day limit, but since it was free to join, shouldn't be a problem to "re-up". below are a few screen shots of my frustration in trying to download a bob hope track.

this happened to me on all the pages. . .so i know it isn't just bob that earned me the 404.

anyone else try this out yet?

i am currently downloading some stuff from the king's singers. i did a search on josh groban and it only returned one album (which couldn't be previewed or downloaded). i'm sure some genres are more full than others.
