i would think they would've stuck with linux from the beginning.

i wonder what hardware requirements exist for chrome os.

I think some have made a good point that by not using ie and windows they are moving away from 90% of their user base.

i'm a little confused by that argument. are they saying that they don't know how to identify with their users or that they aren't effectively coding for the right experience?

If they don't use ie everyday at work they won't be as alert to performance issues and quirks that the bulk of their users face.

We run into the same problem at pg. We code for all browsers but 65%are still on ie6. We miss a lot of JavaScript issues because most of us are on ie7 and use chrome and ff as our defaults.
