yes because they didn't start out with that premise....
The problem there is so many other companies have sprung up because MS had an open platform.

If microsoft had stayed closed from the beginning they wouldn't have had a problem...
You can't go buy a mustang and put a camero engine in it can you?

But if you decide to make an engine that can go in any car...but then change your mind you would have a problem.

yep I totally agree

I think that is exactly why they did what they did and grew so fast but it does kind of lock them down...

It is one of those rules in life...better to hold back than to give something then take it away.

It is too late for MS to start pulling things back.
