Windows apps native on OSX soon?
http://arstechnica.com/journals/apple.ars/2007/11/30/uncovered-evidence-that-mac-os-x-could-run-windows-apps-soon

This is kinda interesting, but the problem is, wouldn't this make OSX wide-open to the flood of malware written for windows?

Also, this comment that someone wrote was really interesting I thought:

"Think about this from a software creators angle. Why spend time writing any applications at all for OS X if it can also run windows applications. Fast-forward 5 years. All applications are written for windows, and Microsoft takes legal action to prevent Apple from running its code. Instantly, Macs with no software. This may kill Apple, or it may force them to become strictly a hardware company."

good stuff, and why not share the malware with everyone, then we could take more imperative action against it.
great thought- lets do it

usually malware would attack something on the system and a mac system would still be different.

Yes because even if they say it is running native it is really having to run in some sort of emulator because unless you have windows installed you don't have the windows dlls so you have to fake them etc.
They have done this for linux some time ago.
You have to remember that the core system is still mac/linux so they are by nature more secure. Malware isn't an OS problem though...it is a browser problem. If you use a windows machine with firefox or opera your chances of malware drop. On mac and linux you don't have IE so you don't have malware problems. Also on mac and osx the core is more secure and doesn't allow activex integration with the system etc.
Viruses, I expect would be the bigger problem with something like what the article is talking about but even that, may only impact the emulation.
