i noticed that yesterday when i went to look at a google spreadsheet i created a while back. i think it is cool, but i am still hesitant to go that direction. . .especially after recently going to a campground that had no internet. i had a couple of hours to work on my sunday school lesson and was glad to have a local copy instead of depending on a web-only setup.

another thing that google's blog highlighted the other day is the news archive (http://news.google.com/archivesearch). do a search on "civil war" and you can find newspaper articles from the 1800's. unfortunately, most of the articles are tied to a subscription or pay-per-read, but it is still sweet to have access to such things.

I still expect they will have an offline mode or some sort of desktop client eventually (they can include picasa, google talk, desktop search, docs, spreadsheets etc.
