XML to SQL
I am trying to come up with a little better solution at work than what we have. I would like to figure out how to export an Excel XML file into an SQL database. The file itselfs contains thousands of data entries with hundreds of columns. It's an absolute nightmare to look at. We just purchased a system for our hospital because of the Healthcare bill that provides incentives for going onto a national DB. Of course, the hospital administrators made the decision with only eyes on the money.

I have found a way to export it into an Access database with some success. But the file is to large to deal with access and it is not allowing me to work with it or import it into a data set with VS.

when you export it do you want it to stay in its current form or translate the xml into relational tables?....

Fyi your hospital should be using Press Ganey :-)

I'm good with it staying in it's current form. Though relational tables would be nice.

I only wish we were using Press Ganey. We are using the system called Epic and they are sending us a bunch of college students to help us with this because they blew up so big that they don't have any veteran employees that actually know what is happening.

Alright, after some toying around with different format savings I have been able to import some of the data. But SQL is only importing the first 300 rows or so. Is this because I am using Express?
