non-destructive partitions
so i'
ve got the hard-drive space available and i was thinking about making a partition for linux just to try out a few distros... is there any way to partition without requiring a clean format or is that possible?

i thought a lot of the versions of linux like Ubuntu let you create a partition during install without reformatting the entire drive.

When I installed Ubuntu a few years ago I already had XP on my HD and it worked just fine. It will set up a little thing for you that will allow you to select which operating system you want, or that might just be CMOS doing its job.
