tigerdirect had OEM copies pretty cheap this summer
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16832116169
with free vista upgrade
89.99 is home
139.99 is xp pro
this is about as good as you are going to find anywhere. Newegg and Tigerdirect both sell them

This is a question I'
ve sadly never known but always kinda wondered, what is xp home missing that xp pro has? the only thing I know is w/ xp pro you can RDP into the xp pro machine from a remote device... but what else is their? We'
ve always had xp home on our systems and I'
ve never felt like we'
re missing something.

I think XPpro has better VPN support too...there really isn'
t that much more on XP pro though. I do think the RDP is kind of nice that XP pro gives you. When I had to buy an OS this summer I bought XP pro because I knew I would need to rdp into it.

the reviews say that the vista upgrade only works if you have to be able to provide a "PC model and serial # to get the rebate"
